Retailer’s Philanthropic Initiative Collects Over 260,000 Articles of Gently-Used Professional Attire to Support Unemployed Americans Reentering the Workforce

FREMONT, Calif., Aug. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Men’s Wearhouse concluded its ninth annual National Suit Drive this past July and the brand announced today that this year’s initiative collected a record-breaking number of items, all benefiting unemployed Americans looking to reenter the workforce.  Throughout the month of July, over 800 Men’s Wearhouse stores across the nation collected over 260,000 articles of gently-used men’s and women’s professional attire that will be given to job seekers in need of professional interview attire.

“Our customers made this a record year for the National Suit Drive and their donations will help change lives. The National Suit Drive has collected more than 1.2 million donations since its inception in 2008. Each year, Men’s Wearhouse partners with more than 180 local non-profit organizations across the country that assist unemployed individuals who are trying to get back into the workforce through job readiness programs and workforce assistance. These partner organizations distribute the clothing donations collected to unemployed men and women in need and prepare them to re-enter the job market through résumé-building workshops, interview preparation and employment training programs.
